Hey duck hunter! To make your life easier for you, so you can just go out there and pursue your hobby, we put together a list of five best states for hunting ducks. Our leading list is made of states like California, Texas, Kansas, Illinois and Louisiana. Is this where you live or the country next to yours? Awesome! Let’s dig in.

5. Texas – Private Land, Public Hunting

The duck hunters’ number, like many others things in Texas, is big, too. Most of Texas’ land, about 95.8%, is private. That means that, even though there some awesome ducks all over the state, most probably you will have to knock on somebody’s door and ask for permission to hunt on his backyard or ranch. Good thing is there is no shortage of opportunity to call in your first cranes (the limit of bags is about 2-3 per day).

By planning a hunting trip to Illinois, you are planning a great opportunity to hunt on several species all in one trip. Of course, ducks are the best waterfowl hunting choice.
